What am I working on?
Hello all, it's been almost a year since I set this site up. Now, the time has finally come to make use of it.
I've been busy juggling work and play. Currently, I've been trying to familiarize myself with the FreeBSD operating system.
I also spend a good deal of time developing new ways of sharing information and media, and lately, I have been developing my latest social media project, Gruuvee. It's a mashup of a bunch of different open-source projects, most notably the Subsonic music streamer, and a number of other backend technologies mashed together, such as PHP and lighttpd. It's currently still in it's infancy, as I do not have the free time to code together all the features that people have asked for, but it has become popular and sees around 50 regular users.
I have recently started another project called Bravecom. Bravecom will serve a number of purposes:
1. To begin a blog- "Brave Communications" and use it to educate the public about their rights online in today's digital world. Also, draw attention to the privacy and digital civil rights issues that often go ignored by the general public. Use examples from real people to show the importance of privacy and protecting yourself both online and off.
2. To provide a number of enthusiast-friendly services such as secure VPN, hosting, and data services as the organization grows.
3. To provide a learning experience for me and anyone else interested. I learn best with my hands on equipment, and my brain in real-world situations. I know others are the same way. Bravecom, hopefully will give me and others this opportunity to learn.
And THAT is my plan.
